Playing in the Woods

This family was VERY fun to hang out with last Saturday! I was afraid my car was going to bust going through the woods, but when we arrived, I got pretty excited seeing all of the different opportunities for some great shots. Steven, Jacob, and Savannah made my job pretty easy, and hung in there with me as we explored the property. I had a VERY hard time limiting my blog entry to 10 pictures... had to go over just a bit! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek mom and I am excited about you other ideas coming up!

Apparently, Savannah LOVES to dress up... really, what girl doesn't? It was so funny to take pictures of this sweet little "princess" in the woods. She showed her true heart by throwing on her rain boots! How cute... and the girl can accessorize!

Parker (6M)

Six months is such a fun age! I have gotten to take Parker's pictures when he was just a few weeks old, 3 months, and now at 6! He is for sure GROWING... there is no question about that. Mom and Dad are trying hard to keep up with him! Just in the last few weeks he has taken off... crawling and pulling up! As you can tell he is no LESS squishy than his 3 month pictures!! Mom, I hope you love your sneak peek! Had fun hanging out with you guys yesterday! See you in a few for his 9 month shoot and before you know it... his birthday pics!

A few photography tips from one mom to another!

  1. get down low... if you are taking pictures of kids, get on their level... YEP down on the floor!
  2. use natural light when you can! Sometimes you really do need extra light from a flash, but BE CREATIVE... ALL of the pictures you are seeing above were taken right inside the family's front door... just open it up and you have all the light you need!
  3. DE-clutter... if you are taking a picture and have the time to think ahead try to move some of the "background" clutter OR take the picture at an angle that avoids the majority of the clutter.

My TWO sweet HEARTs (and then some)

Don't we all need a hug sometimes? The Stansberry home has been turned upside down these past few weeks. I can't really put into words the roller coaster of emotions I have felt. When all is said and done... I am officially now a "stay at home mom." I have been working in the ministry for 10 years now. While I have BEEN a mom for over 3 years, this will be a whole new chapter in our lives. I have always loved ministering to teens and in the last 6 years, people of all ages, but now it is time for me to turn 100% of my focus to my family. I am so excited about this new venture and can't wait to just soak up ALL of my time with these two cuties! Check them out in our Valentine Pictures!

With this new chapter in our lives ALSO come more time to capture YOUR special moments! My sessions in March are beginning to fill AND people have been asking about this year's Easter/Spring mini sessions. I will have those dates out ASAP, so keep checking here, or shoot me an email!

brother and sister Valentine

I always have fun with my girl Riley Kate and her little brother Laine! Of course Mom had something cute for their Valentine pictures!

Kaleb

I had lots of fun meeting and taking pictures of THIS sweet boy, Kaleb! For a three year old... he really hung in there with us! I think the promise of a sucker and a ride in his truck kept him going with the clothing changes and sweet sweet smiles! It was so fun to spend time with you "R" family!!!
